Vrudha Ashram Seva: Food, Shelter & Care for the Elderly

Vrudha Ashram Seva . donate for food

Vrudha Ashram Seva is one of Guruweshvar Shani Foundation’s core programs. Guru Gaurav Arya Ji’s vision is to build a Vrudha Ashram (old-age care home) at every Shani temple the foundation establishes, so that elderly people who have nowhere else to turn can find safety, food, and dignity. Our team is working steadily toward that goal, one seva activity at a time.

Serving Healthy Food at Vrudha Ashram, Indore

On 1 September 2022, Guru Gaurav Arya Ji and the foundation’s volunteers visited a Vrudha Ashram in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, and served a full meal to the elderly residents there. It was a small but meaningful step toward the foundation’s larger goal — ensuring no elderly person in our care goes without a proper meal. As the foundation grows, we aim to make this kind of food seva a regular, ongoing activity rather than a one-time event.

Why We’re Building Vrudha Ashrams

Life moves fast, and in that speed, family bonds can quietly stretch thin. Children grow up and move away to chase their own dreams and careers, and parents are sometimes left to manage alone. Misunderstandings between generations, or the loss of a spouse or child, can leave an elderly person isolated at exactly the stage of life when they need care and companionship the most.

A Vrudha Ashram exists to fill that gap — offering not just shelter, but a community and a sense of belonging for elders who need it.

What Makes Our Vrudha Ashram Different

  • Safety and security — a protected, well-monitored living environment
  • Healthy food — regular, nutritious meals for every resident
  • A spiritual atmosphere — daily prayer, satsang, and a sense of peace
  • Positive company — a warm, supportive community instead of isolation
